A two day theatre workshop was held in AMIS for the children of the Calendula, Allamanda and Antigonon Groups, by Shri Ravi Shankar, a theatre personality, on the 24th and 25th of August, 2015. The workshop was a short introduction to the skills and craft of theatre performance. On the first day, the children, through various activities and games explored the skills of imagination, space, voice modulation and effective verbal and non- verbal communication. The second day was more about putting into action the skills that had been touched upon on the first day. The children explored their own physicality in relation to theatre and engaged in scene work to get an experience of what theatre performance demands. We were glad that we Diyas also got the opportunity to get a brief exposure to this enriching workshop, over the weekend.
