There’s little doubt that flowers are beautiful, many have perfume aromas that stir the senses, and the act of giving and receiving flowers is woven into the very fabric of our culture. But did you know each flower has a meaning, and did you know each flower ‘sends an unspoken message?’ Well, at Auro Mirra International School, Orientation day for parents on June 10th 2012, began with meditative silence followed by speaking with the heart through flowers facilitated by Ms. Harvinder Kaur, Director of Indian Council For Integral Education, Puducherry. Pradeep Bhai delivered an excellent speech with his words of motivation and determined vision of AMIS.
Ms. Harvinder Kaur attempted to make our dear parents aware of building a child-friendly atmosphere at home and to guide their child in their studies. She also gave brief introduction on Integral education.
Parents were made familiarised with the diyas/teachers and aunties/ayahs with a brief introduction. The parents were then led by diyas to different kuteers in eight groups where at a taste of integral education through fun activities and songs were given.
The whole programme was highly appreciated by the parents and they appeared to be satisfied of putting their tiny tots in the right place for their education. But this was not the end as we have just begun our journey in pursuit of excellence in moulding the future citizen of our country.
