Auro Mirra International School celebrated its Annual Day on March 3rd 2012 with enthusiasm and zeal.
The event was hosted within the school premise. We were graced by the presence of Shri B J Kariyappa, assistant coach of the Indian hockey team, as our Guest of Honour. His speech on sports and fitness was particularly uplifting. The secretary of Sri Aurobindo Society addressed the gathering as well. The school principal, Smt. Anitha Mukundan, presented her annual report detailing the various activities and achievements of the past scholastic year.
The celebrations continued with a colourful cultural programme. It highlighted the theme of patriotism And was a wonderful treat for the senses. Children presented a Kannada musical drama called “Punyakoti” which drove home the message that ‘Truth is God’. Their effort was well appreciated by the audience.
Other performances like spirited rendering of patriotic songs and action songs and graceful dances choreographed by the Didis were also presented. The audience was kept enthralled throughout the evening until the rendering of our national anthem which signaled curtains down to the evening’s proceedings. The pride at watching their children put in a splendid effort combined with the unique setting for the evening left the parents glowing with pride.
