Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in the school to pay tribute to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi who fought bravely and relentlessly against the British and led the Freedom struggle of India. Children sang Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan ‘Vaishav Jan’ which was followed by a patriotic song –‘De di hume azaadi’. Children also recited a poem in Hindi which emphasised Gandhiji’s teachings to the world –satya, ahimsa and swadeshi. After the
programme, children were shown a documentary film based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
