One of the oldest human inventions, Pottery is the process of forming vessels and other objects with clay and other ceramic materials. It is one of the finest forms of art and holds a position in India’s cultural history. At AMIS, students and staff have always been encouraged to enjoy the experience of pottery.
Children got the opportunity to make beautiful lamps, vases and other items in this session. They were very excited and happy to see how their fingers could mould clay into such beautiful shapes. The feel of the clay was another advantage for the development of their tactile sense, as they do not get to do that very often in their urban lifestyle. Children kept rubbing their hands with clay over and over. Some were really curious to know the mechanism of the potter’s wheel. The sight of the beautiful items created by them heightened their joy beyond measure.
