Independence day was celebrated in school with great zeal. It was also the day of Sri Aurobindo’s birthday. Harvinder didi hoisted the flag and students rendered the national anthem with immense fervour. Naverdo from class 8 spoke about the life and achievements of the great philosopher and thinker, Sri Aurobindo.
Students presented songs, dance and drill. This year children debated on a range of contemporary issues plaguing the country. It was followed by a quiz on the history of independence which engaged children’s interest thoroughly. The celebrations of the day imparted important lessons on the country’s struggle for freedom and infused in everyone a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude for the martyrs and great leaders who had won us freedom from oppression.
