The purpose behind the Parent Enrichment Program was to render support to the parents who were early learners in Kannada. Participants were first introduced to “Akshara maale” that deals with the pronunciation of alphabets, followed by a song bearing strategies that enhanced the recognition of alphabets. Flash cards were used to recapitulate the entire process of internalizing alphabets. Parents found this basic coaching very helpful and the excitement of learning a new language, was clearly evident in them.
